As physiotherapists with a deep passion for Women’s Health, we are drawn to the often-overlooked phase of postnatal recovery.
We saw the quiet strength in new mothers—but also the fatigue, the discomfort, and the unspoken questions about healing, identity, and belonging.

It isn’t just about rehabilitation.

It is about restoration.

From that vision, our Postnatal Class was born.  Pilates, with its gentle precision and whole-body focus, became the perfect foundation.
It offers more than movement – it offers reconnection.

Pelvic Floor Recovery: Deep core engagement helps rebuild pelvic floor strength, reducing incontinence and supporting pelvic organ health.

Abdominal Healing: Targeted exercises gently guide separated abdominal muscles back together, promoting natural healing without invasive intervention.

Postural Support: With the physical demands of motherhood, posture often suffers. Pilates strengthens spinal support muscles,
easing back pain and helping moms stand tall again.

Energy & Circulation: Movement may feel like a luxury for tired moms, but Pilates improves circulation and hormonal balance—
leaving them more energized and refreshed.

Functional Strength: From lifting car seats to rocking babies, Pilates builds the kind of strength motherhood demands—
core, arms, legs, and everything in between.

Emotional Recovery: Breathwork and mindful movement create space for calm, emotional healing, and a renewed sense of self.

A Class Designed for Connection

Every Wednesday at 11:30 at the Durbanville Studio and every Thursday at 11:00, at the Stellenbosch Square Studio, Lania Smith leads a group of moms and their babies through 90 minutes of gentle movement, and  shared learning.

Babies are welcome to nap, play, or cuddle nearby in our dedicated space—allowing moms to fully focus on their recovery.
